For lunch, News Cafe offers a delicious selection of appetizers, entrées, and desserts. Start with fried calamari served with California almond tartar sauce or the vibrant Greek fattoush salad with romaine lettuce, arugula, cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, cucumber, red radishes, pomegranate seeds, red onions, mint, parsley, feta cheese, pomegranate molasses, lemon oregano vinaigrette, and za’atar-dusted pita bread croutons. You can add protein, such as chicken, steak, shrimp, or salmon, for an additional charge. Another excellent choice is Tony’s Tomato Soup: fresh, roasted tomatoes with basil and a touch of cream. It is served with a gooey grilled cheese sandwich that is perfect for dipping.
For entrees, choose the classic BLT sandwich with thick Nueske bacon, romaine lettuce, fried rosemary mayo, and a local tomato on sourdough bread. It is served with your choice of fries or salad. Or, try the mahi-mahi tacos, which come with three crispy fried mahi-mahi tacos, sweet and spicy slaw, pico de gallo, and jalapeño crema. Another popular option is the chicken brasa bowl, made with cilantro rice, black beans, pollo a la brasa, criolla salsa, radish, avocado, microgreens, jalapeño ranch, and a yellow corn tostada.
For dessert, enjoy the classic tiramisu featuring espresso-soaked savoiardi cookies, sweet mascarpone cream, and a dusting of dark cocoa powder. For a lighter option, enjoy vanilla ice cream topped with strawberries, whipped cream, and caramel drizzle.
